Summary
LiftStreak collects the information you provide to create an account and power fitness features (workouts, nutrition, plans, progress, and reports). Some features are optional and require permissions (for example, Apple Health integration, GPS route tracking, and photo upload). We do not sell personal information.
Information We Collect
- Account info: email, name, password (stored as a secure hash), and profile fields you add.
- Fitness and health-related info you enter: workouts, sets, templates, plans, notes, nutrition logs, and related metadata.
- Apple Health (optional): if you enable HealthKit sync, we may read workouts and measurements from Apple Health and write workouts and measurements you log in LiftStreak back to Apple Health.
- Location (optional): if you enable GPS workout tracking, we collect precise location while you record an outdoor workout to calculate route, distance, and pace (and, if enabled, to continue tracking in the background).
- User content (optional): photos you choose to upload (such as progress photos and meal photos) and messages you send in chat/social features.
- Search queries: searches you perform inside the app (for example, food search).
- Subscription and purchase info: subscription status and purchase history needed to provide paid features. Payments are handled by Apple; we may receive subscription status/entitlement data via our subscription provider.
- Usage and device info: IP address, device and browser/app identifiers, OS/app version, timestamps, and basic diagnostic or crash data used to operate and secure the Service.
- Cookies and similar technologies: used for authentication, security, and preferences (see “Cookies and Tracking”).
How We Use Information
- Provide and improve core product features (tracking, analytics, reports, and sync).
- Secure accounts (email verification, login protection, and abuse prevention).
- Send service emails (e.g., verification and password reset) and optional emails you choose.
- Communicate about support requests and service issues.
- AI features (optional): if you use AI-powered features (such as meal photo analysis or meal plan generation), we process the content you submit to provide those features.
Sensitive Information
Workouts and nutrition logs can be considered sensitive in some jurisdictions. We use this information to provide the Service and do not use it for advertising or sell it to third parties.
Sharing
We share information only as needed to operate the Service, to comply with law, or with your direction. Examples of recipients include:
- Infrastructure providers (hosting, storage, and databases)
- Email delivery providers
- Customer support tooling
- Analytics and diagnostics (to understand usage and reliability)
- Subscription and payment providers (for example, Apple and our subscription provider)
- AI providers (only when you use AI features)
- Food data providers (e.g. barcode/food databases and nutrition databases)
We may also share information if required by law, to protect the Service and users, or in connection with a business transfer (for example, a merger or acquisition).
Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, prevent fraud, and operate the Service. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling cookies may prevent the Service from working properly. We may also use limited analytics to understand usage and improve reliability.
Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can:
- Update profile information in the app
- Manage email preferences in settings
- Enable or disable optional permissions (e.g. Apple Health and location) in iOS settings
- Delete your account from your profile settings
- Contact support to request help with access, deletion, or export
Retention and Deletion
We keep information as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize personal information within a reasonable time, except where retention is required for legal, security, fraud prevention, or operational reasons.
Data may persist in encrypted backups and security logs for a limited period and will be removed or overwritten as backups rotate. We may retain aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be linked to you.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information (for example, encryption in transit, access controls, and secure password hashing). No system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
International Transfers
LiftStreak may process and store information in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. Data protection laws may differ by location.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact support.
